She was born April 2, 1917 in Suamico to Mitchell and Anne (Schaden) Lotto and grew up in Green Valley. On September 1, 1938 she married Leonard Johnson in Gillett. He preceded her in death on September 22, 1966. On May 4, 1968 she married Richard Schneider who preceded her in death on January 8, 1997. She lived on the family farm all of her married life and was a member of the Gillett Legion Auxiliary, St. John Catholic Church in Gillett and was active in the altar society. "Grandma Mim" was a good cook and was known for her cookies and pickles. She was Grandma to many other kids in the neighborhood just because of her cookies.
Survivors are her two sons and one daughter-in-law, Curt Johnson, Oconto Falls; Terry and Karen Johnson, Sheboygan; seven grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; one brother, Clem (Alice) Lotto, Green Valley; one sister, Marie Dryja, Brookfield; stepchildren, Richard (Terri) Schneider, Janice (Allen) Johnson all of Howard; James (Mary) Schneider, Green Say; eight stepgrandchildren. Besides her parents and husbands she was also preceded in death by an infant daughter, Lynette Marie; five brothers, Jerome, Mitch, Cyril, Gerry and Marvin Lotto; two sisters, Angeline and Florence, and daughter-in-law, Mary Johnson.
Friends may call at Jones Funeral Service in Oconto Falls from 4 until 8 p.m. Tuesday, prayer service 7 p.m. Tuesday. Visitation will continue at St. John Catholic Church in Gillett after 10 a.m. Wednesday until the time of services. Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at the church with the Rev. Fr. John Gallagher officiating. Burial in the church cemetery.
