Mrs. Mary Russell Dies,

Rites Are Held Monday

Mrs. Mary Russell, 78 of 421 Washington-St. died at 9:20 am. Friday at the home of her daughter Mrs. Elroy Backus, Milwaukee. The body was brought here by the Gagnun-Sheffield Funeral Home And was taken to the residence Saturday.

She was born March 28, 1867 at Bay Settlement and has lived in Oconto for fifty-six years. Her Husband, Alexander, preceded her in death 32 years ago.

The deceased was a member of St. Joseph's Altar society and of the American Legion auxiliary, and a Gold Star mother of World War I.

Funeral services were held Monday morning at nine o'clock at St. Joseph's Catholic church with Rev. M. G. Alt celebrant of the solemn requiem high mass, Rev Joseph Lutheran as deacon and Rev. Byron Belongia, subdeacon. Pallbears were George Riley, Frank Malloney, George Trepanier, Jesse LePene, James Young and A. M. Merline. Burial was in the Catholic cemetery.

The rosary was recited at the home Sunday evening by the Catholic Woman's club and the Altar society.

Survivors are four daughters, Mrs. Theresa Stafinbil, Kalispell, Montana; Mrs. Mathilda Parker, Chicago, Ill.; Mrs. Edna Backus, Milwaukee, and Mrs. Marie Gomber, Oconto; three sons, Robert, Milwaukee; Granville, Glendive, Montana, and Truman, Los Angeles, California. Two sons died in World War I. She is also survived by seven brothers, Alex and Joseph Laduron of Green Bay; Frank Laduron, Rainer, Ore.; William Laduron, Oconto; George Laduron, Big Suamico; Desire and Gerard Laduron, of Abrams, seventeen grandchildren and four great grandchildren. She has five grandsons in Service.
