AGED RESIDENT OF COUNTY DIES AT LENA SATURDAY

Mrs. Margaret LaPlant of Lena died Saturday evening, June 21st at 8:30 at the home of Mrs. Dennis Dionne. Her illness was of short duration and due to old age. She was 89 years old at the time of her death.

Deceased was born in Cork, Ireland in 1835 and came to Woodstock, Canada with her family at the age of three years.

Later the family moved to Kossuth, Manitowoc County. Here she was married to Felix LaPlant. Seven children were born to them, Her husband preceded her in death fifty-two years ago.

In 1887 the family moved to Lena. The children who survive are Mr. Ed Niquette ( Should be MRS. ), Mrs. Alex Pelkey, Mrs. Fred Bougniet ( BAUGNIET ), Mrs. Emeline Eatherton, Mrs. Dennis Dionne and George LaPlant, all of whom attended the funeral.

Deceased was also survived by thirty-eight grandchildren, eighty-four great grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

The funeral services were held at St. Charles church of Lena. Rev. Father Fox officiating.

The pallbearers were Homer Pelkey, Clarence Niquette, Earl Dionne and Archie Bougniet, grand children and Douglas and Ambrose Fortier, great grand children.

Those who attended the funeral from out of town were: Mr. and Mrs. Bougonet and six children of Mishicot, Mrs. Emeline Eatherton of Kansas City, Mo., Mr. and Mrs. Geo La Plant and son, Mrs. Nelson Valley (I think that should be Mr. N. FORTIER, not sure) and two children and Albert Cayo of Niagara, Mike McKrough (should be McKeough) of Green Bay, Clarence Niquette and son, and Mr. and Mrs. Milton Pelkey and family of Milwaukee; Mr. and Mrs. Adoph Schmitt of Laona, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Bougniet and Mr. and Mrs. Archie Bougniet of Two Rivers.
