Marie (Mrs. Bud) A. Anderson, 76, Houston, Texas, formerly of Oconto Falls, died Monday morning, September 10, 2001, at a Houston area hospital.

She was born December 27, 1924, in. Shawano, to Emil and Clara (Berton) Lindroth. She grew up in Shawano, where she attended Sacred Heart Catholic Grade School and later graduated from Shawano High School with the Class of 1943. Following graduation, she attended nurses training in Chicago and then started work-at Shawano Hospital.

On December 24, 1946, she married Bud Anderson in Shawano. The couple lived in Suring for a short time before moving to Oconto Falls where together they managed Bachall's Clothing Store for many years. Marie will long be remembered for her 28 years of employment as a bookkeeper with the Oconto Falls School District. While living in Oconto Falls, she was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church and the Altar Rosary Society. A few years following the death of her husband in 1986, Marie moved to Howard and lived there before moving to Houston four years ago to live with her niece, Tina Qasem and to be near niece, Nyelene "Nifty" Wahl.

Survivors are two brothers, Robert Lindroth, Clovis, CA; Dr. James Lindroth, South Orange, NJ; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Bud Anderson, on May 18, 1986; one brother, George "Skootch" Lindroth; and one sister, Helen Mae.

Friends called on Friday at Jones Funeral Service in Oconto Falls; a prayer service was held. Mass of Christian Burial was conducted 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Oconto Falls, with the Rev. Harold Beerntsen and Patricia DeGroot, parish director officiating. Burial in Frostville Cemetery, Suring.
