She was born April 24, 1926 in Oconto Falls to William J. and Helen (Western) Kadlec. She grew up in Oconto Falls where she attended school graduating from high school with the class of 1944. Follow ing graduation, she attended nursing school in Cook County, Illinois.
On June 2:3, 1945 she married Gregory N. Martens in Midland Texas. The couple have lived in Oconto Falls for most of their married life and have also owned a cottage on Cranberry Lake near Eagle River for over 30 years where Marg was an avid fisherman. She was a member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Oconto Falls and was once active in the Youth Church organization. She was also a lifetime member of the Oconto Falls American Legion Auxiliary. Marg will be remembered by her family as a loving wife, mother and grandmother..
Survivor., are her husband, Greg Martens; one son, Kerry Marten, Appleton; one daughter, Dr. JoAnn Martens and Drew Kottke, Waunakee; six grandchildren; one brother, Jim (Mary) Kadlec, Oconto; one sister, "Billie" (George) Rider, Oconto Falls.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her daughter, Linda, one brother, William "Buster" Kadlec and three sisters, Kathleen Frank, Jean Robinson and Bette Behling
There was no visitation. Memorial Mass of Christian Burial with the urn present was held 11 a.m. Friday at St. Anthony's Catholic Church with the Rev. Fr. Paul Schumacher officiating. Burial of the urn was in Woodlawn Cemetery, Oconto Falls. Jones Funeral Service served the Martens family.
