Mrs. Mary Lieb Died June 1st Aged 85 Years
Had Been a Resident of Gillett for 24 Years; Death Resulted from Paralysis
Mary Klosterman was born in Oldenburg, Germany, on February 7, 1844. When about 16 years of age she came with her parents to America and located at Shawano. When 19 years of age she was united in marriage to John Liebs, and they immediately located on a farm in the town of Hartland. Eight children blessed this union, two sons, John Liebs of GilletT, Henry of Wausau. and five daughters, Mrs. Herman Gaileske of Cecil, Mrs. Emil Thibaudeau and Mrs. Leo Thibaudeau of Gillett, Mr. Anna Peterman and Mrs. Fred Bocher of Cecil. One child died in infancy. Her husband preceded her in death 31 years ago. She, with her children, remained on the farm for a few years following the demise of her husband, later disposing of same they moved to Gillett where she had made her home for about 24 years. Twenty-two grandchildren and nine great grandchildren also survive.
Mrs. Liebs was a kind and loving wife and mother, being of a very kindly and affectionate disposition, and which won for her a host of friends in this village who grieve with the bereaved family over the loss of a very dear friend.
Funeral services were held on Monday afternoon at 2:00 o'clock from the home of her daughter, Mrs. Anna Peterman in Cecil, Rev. Schultheiss of Oconto Falls officiating. Interment was in the family plot in the town of Hartand cemetery.
The pall beavers were, Wm. Haehr. Albert Raehr, H.Belfus. Henry Schultz, Gus. Thieme and Carl Koeppen.

Kraning, Mrs. Gust Boetch, Mr. and Mrs. Gust Boetch and family, Mr. and Mrs. Ed. Schultz of Bonduel: Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Klosterman and Louis Klosterman of Advance, Mr. and Mrs Emil Thibaudea,. Mr. and Mrs Leo Thibaudeau and daughter Catherine, John Liebs, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Husman, Mrs. Val. Dieringer and Mrs. Alice Nygaard of Gillett.
