Marvin "Doats" J. Heath, 59, Keshena, died unexpectedly at home on Saturday March 23, 2002.

Marvin was born May 24, 1942 in Keshena to the late Allen and Agnes (Warrington) Heath. He graduated with the Suring High School Class of 1961. After being employed by the Menominee Enterprise, he retired in 2000 due to medical disability. Doats was very proud of his 26 years of service with the Enterprise.

He was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church in Keshena. Doats enjoyed sports -- especially baseball (Menominee Muskies fan), he had a sense of humor and enjoyed cribbage.

Survivors include his children, Elena (William) Cox III, Keshena; Melissa (Marc) Bernarde, Coral Springs, FL; Kristina (Scott) Potrykus, Wittenberg; Kanaysa (Mandy) Heath, Stevens Point; Cornell Zhuckkahosee, Keshena; nine grandchildren Corey, Hunter, Jasmine, Cierra, William IV, Alaqua, Tyria, Kasia and Caleah; brothers and sisters: Janet "Ann" (Joe) Warrington, Keshena; Janice (Philip) Reed, Gillett; Russell Heath, Keshena; Margaret (Wendell) Cornelius, Oneida; William (Carol) Heath, Berry Lake; Dennis Heath, Keshena; Cecelia (Lee) Zhuckkahosee, Keshena; Stephen Heath, Wittenberg; and Linda (Paul) Wilber, Suring. Further survived by many nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by three brothers Robert, Bernard, and Stanton Heath; four sisters Joyce Kenote, Rhama Heath, Marilyn Zamora, and Marie Heath; one granddaughter, Cheyna Bernarde.

Visitation was held at the Elena (Bill) Cox III residence, Keshena Lake Road, beginning Monday March 25 after 4 p.m. Prayer vigil Tuesday 7 p.m. Funeral Mass Wednesday 10 a.m. March 27, at St. Michael Catholic Church in Keshena with Father Dave Barrett officiating. Burial in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery - South Branch. Gruetzmacher Funeral Home, Suring, in charge of arrangements.
