Mary Jo Holzem MILKE

Mrs. Frank (Mary Jo) Mikle, 57, Lakewood, Wis., died Thursday, October 21, 1999, after a courageous battle with leukemia. She was born on July 7, 1942, in Green Bay, to Joe Holzem and the late Ruth (Harkins) Holzem. On June 27, 1964, she married Frank Mikle of Algoma, at St. Matthew Catholic Church in Allouez. She was formerly employed by Village Drug in Pardeeville, Wis. Mary Jo was an example to her family and to all who knew her. During her illness she never gave up and kept a positive attitude during all her treatments. She "fought the good fight' and has earned her rest.

She is survived by her husband, Frank; three children and one daughter-in-law, Mark Mikle, Montello; Paul and Tracy Mikle, Oshkosh; Susan Mikle, Green Bay; two granddaughters, Cassandra Mikle and Chelsey Mikle her father, Joe Holzem, Lakewood; one brother, William Holzem, Madison; three aunts and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Ruth Holzem and an uncle, Matt Holzem. Friends called at Blaney Funeral Home, 1521 Shawano Ave., Green Bay where a parish wake service was held. Mass of Christ- ian Burial was conducted 11 a.m. Monday at St. Mary of the Lake Catholic Church in Lakewood, with the Rev. Gerald Schmidt O.F.M. Cap. officiating. Burial was in St. Mary of the Lake Cemetery, Lakewood. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established to benefit the Leukemia Society of America.
