Monte was born Dec. 3, 1953 at Oconto, the son of Francis Gunderson and the former Geraldine Foral. He was employed at the former Coleman Products, until illness forced retirement. He very much enjoyed deer hunting and liked to travel. Monty loved motorcycles, and playing cards with his friends.
Survivors include his mother and step-father, Gerre and Mike Finger, Oconto; his father, Francis Gunderson, Oconto; a daughter, Tricia Gunderson, Oconto; two step-sisters, Wanda (Ron) Hugo, Abrams, and Penny (Randy) Schmidt, Oconto; a granddaughter, Marissa Neering, Oconto; his maternal grandmother, Viola Foral, Kelly Lake; his godmother, Lavon Pecor, Oconto; aunts, uncles, cousins, special friends, Tammy and Gil, Jan, Bob and Jean, and all the friends he played cards with.
Monte was preceded in death by a brother Ricky Gunderson, his paternal grandparents, Paul and Agnes Gunderson and John Belongia, his maternal grandparents, Edmund and Elma Foral, and his god-father, Veriand Foral.
The family will receive relatives and friends at Rhodes-Charapata Funeral Home .121 Chicago Street, Oconto from 9:00 until 10:00 a.m. Wednesday (to-day), June 23. Service of Christian Burial 10:00 a.m. Wednesday (to-day) at the funeral home, the Rev. David Ruby officiating. Interment at Oconto Catholic Cemetery.
