Maynard G. Schwab Menasha Age 87, passed away on Friday, March 23, 2001, at his home. He was born on December 23, 1913, in Isaar, Wisconsin, the son of the late George and Ida (Giese) Schwab. At age 4, his parents moved to Mountain, where they farmed until 1949. On June 22, 1935, he married Iola Christensen at Mt. Olive Lutheran Church in Suring. They celebrated 65 years of marriage together. Maynard and his family moved to Seymour and farmed until 1959. At that time they moved to Menasha and he worked construction until retirement.

Maynard loved hunting, fishing, playing pool, gardening, and selling fruit and vegetables. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church and was active in Keenagers and Eltergarten. He is survived by his wife, Iola; his daughter, Ione Butt, Neenah; two sons, Kenneth Schwab, De Pere; Marvin Schwab, Menasha; sister, Freda (Raymond) Schoen, Menasha; eleven grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by three sons, Donald, Richard, and Dennis; a daughter-in-law, Caroline Schwab; a sister, Myrtle Mueller; two brothers, Raymond and Lester.

Funeral services will be conducted on Monday, March 26, 2001, at 11 a.m. at Zion Lutheran Church, 912 North Oneida Street, with the Rev. Larry Matthews officiating. Interment will take place at Mt. Olive Lutheran Cemetery in Suring.

Friends may call at the Wichmann Tri-County Chapel on Sunday from 4 to 8 p.m. and on Monday at the church from 10 a.m. until, the time of the services. A memorial fund is being established. The family wishes to offer a special thanks to the nurses and caregivers from ThedaCare at Home for all of their tender loving care given to Maynard and his family.

Dost Thou now with joy receive him;
Clothed in robes of spotless white,
Now he dwells with thee in light.
