Miner Elgin Alvern "Sam" Sampson, 73, died Monday, February 1, 1999 at Woodland Village Nursing Home in Suring.
He was born December 13, 1925 in Finley, North Dakota, to Alfred and Amelia (Mellum) Sampson. Sam was a veteran of World War II serving in the Army. He married Corinne Genereau. His occupation was carpenter/mason. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, deer hunting, reading, playing cards and playing practical jokes.
He is survived by his wife Corinne; his children, daughter Teresa "Missy" and husband Dave, son ,Jody and wife Lori, daughter Jan "Janimare" and husband Mark, son Leonard "Andrew" and wife Marlee; grandchildren and great-grandchildren; four sisters, Luella, Delores, Helen and Carol and their families. Fondly remembered by Audrey Pischke and other friends and faithful companion Blossom.
Friends called at Gruetzmacher Funeral Home, Suring on Friday February 5, 1999 from 1 p.m. until eulogy at 3 p.m.
