.Marcella A. [Checki] Pawlak, 76, Green Bay died May 17, 2004, at a local  nursing home due to kidney cancer. She was born in Lena to Andrew and Helen [Mikrut] Checki on Oct 22,1927. She was a graduate of Lena High School, Class of 1946. She married Louis Pawlak on June 6, 1948 in Lena and he preceded her in death. Marcella worked for ten years in Green Bay for The Wisconsin Telephone Company. She was invovled in the Vocational Homemakers Club. Marcella became a born again Christian in 1971 and became a member of First Assembly of God Church. A few years after the death of her husband, she moved to Broken Arrow, Okla; in 1976 to attend Rherma Bible School. She then moved to San Diego,Calif in 1979 and resided there until 1995. While in California she was employed for 15 years as a certified nursing assistant. She returned to Green Bay to care for her elderly mother. She had attended Bayside Christian Fellowship and was active in the Ladies' Bible Study. She will be remembered for her enjoyment of traveling, reading, walking, backpacking, golfing, and especially studying the Bible.

She is survived by one son Greg Pawlak, Green Bay and his children, Joshua, Kingsford, Mich; Cody and Shane, Baileys Harbor and their mom Sherrie Schultz; one daughter and son-in-law, Tina and Allan Kolstad, Green Bay and their children Jorden, Couryney and Crystal and stepchildren, Melissa and Adam all of Green Bay; other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents Andrew in 1978 and Helen in 2000; husband Louis 22years ago, 1971; one brother Stanley Checki in 1948 and one infant grandson in 1983.Visition at Interfaith Fellowship. Saturday, May 22 from 10 am until the time of service. Memorial service 11am Saturday at the church with Pastor.
