Another Pioneer Gone
Mrs. Catharine Couillard Died This Morning
Came Here 57 Years Ago

Mrs. Catharine Coulliard, one of the oldest pioneers of the county, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Thomas Riley, at 10:00 this morning of old age after having been invalid for 7-8 months during the last five weeks of which she had failed more rapidly.

She was an extremely healthy woman during the whole 96 years of life, never having called a doctor but twice previous to her last illness and one of those times only to set a broken bone. In fact she could hardly be called sick during her last days, there being simply a wearing out of the human mechanism that had served so long.

Deceased was born in Ireland in 1802 and 67 years ago came to the town of Oconto, settling at Coulliardtown, where she lived until about 11 years ago when she came here to live with her daughter, Mrs. Thomas Riely, who is the only survivor of her immediate family, her husband Thomas Coulliard, having preceded her 27 years ago.

Coulliardtown was named after her husband and herself and she is survived by numerous grandchildren, who with their families, largely make up the Coulliard settlement in the town of Oconto.

The funeral will be held Saturday morning from St. Joseph's church, Rev. Seibach officiating, with internment in the Catholic cemetery. ~~~~~~~
