Many Attend Rites For Mrs. M. Ehlinger Monday

St. Anthony's Catholic church was filled with relatives and friends on Monday morning to pay their last respects to Mrs. Margaret Ehlinger, who passed away Thursday afternoon after a brief illness with a heart ailment. She was 78 years of age and had lived here about 38 years. The solemn high requiem mass was sung by the Rev. Francis J. Melchiors, who was assisted by the Rev. Ig. Grad as deacon, the Rev. Alois Ehlinger, a grandson, as sub-deacon. The Rev. Dougherty of Duck Creek was also present at the mass. The Christian Mother Society of St. Anthony's church attended the requiem services in a body, an honor deserved by the deceased as she had been a member of the society for over 40 years having joined at St. Francis Xavier Cathedral in Green Bay in 1896.

The casket was borne by Messrs Henry Schuessler, John VanHaren, Henry Larsen, John Lemirande, Albert Konitzer, and Wm. Lotter. Mrs. Ehlinger was born August 31, 1861, at Green Bay, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Sylvester Boehm. Her marriage to Ferdinand Ehlinger took place in Green Bay on Oct. 1, 1882, and the couple lived in the city for twenty years, after which they settled on a farm near here. Mr. Ehlinger passed away 22 years ago, and eight years ago Mrs. Ehlinger moved to the city to make her home with her daughter, Margaret.

Survivors are four sons, Sylvester and Frank of this community, Ferdinand of Milwaukee, and Peter of Soperton; six daughters, Sister Mary Ferdinand (Caroline), Sister Mary Consolata (Theresa), Sister Mary Anaclete (Regina), all sisters of St. Francis of Assissi of St. Francis in Milwaukee county, Margaret at home, Mrs. Floyd Jewell, Jennie, of Spruce, and Mrs. Catherine Sigl of Oconto Falls; thirty grandchildren, and a sister, Mrs. Frank Nachtwey of Green Bay.

The remains were removed to the O'Neill Funeral home and lay in state there until the hour of services Monday morning. Those at the rites were Frank Reinhard Sr, Mr. and Mrs. Syl. Reinhard and family, Mr. and Mrs. J.J. Reinhard and family, Mrs. Louis (continued on page 5)…
