SURING - Matthias Anton Otradovec, Sr., age 92, died at home the evening of February 16, 1992. Matt was born February 18, 1899 in the Town of How to the late Anton and Margaret (Miller) Otradovec. Being the first Mass Server at St. Michael's when Mass was held at Suring Village Hall was fondly remembered by Matt.
Genevieve J. PECORE became his bride May 12, 1924. Matt logged and farmed in South Branch all his life. Playing cards and fishing were his favorite pastimes. He was also very family oriented and spent a good deal of time with his children. He was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church, Suring.
Survivors included; Eleven daughters and eight sons-in-law; Marcells (George) Wilber of Oshkosh, Eleanor Reisterer, Genevieve (Rubin) Hein, and Sylvia (David) Wilber, all of Bass Lake; Leila (Stanley) Strehlow and Romelda Vecker of Quinnesec, MI, Roberta (Michael) Wilson of St.Louis, MO, Angela (John) Kempen of Combined Locks, Christine (Sherman) Webster of Oshkosh, Margaret and Rosanne Otradovec of Keshena; Seven sons and four daughters-in-law: Roger, Adelbert, and Chantel all of South Branch, Orville and Marie of Kaulauna, Laurel and Sandra of South Branch, F. Peter and Verene of Round Lake, Matt Jr. of Legend Lake, Joe of South Branch; John and Alice of Lena, Joe and Loretta and Anthony, all of Green Bay, sister-in-law Alvina Otradovec of Gillett; 97 grandchildren and 96 gret grandchildren.
He was preceded in eath by his wife, December 16, 1987, Two sons, Irvin Sr., and Melvin; Two brothers, Frank and Peter; two sister, Anna and Rose.
Friends may call at Gruetzmacher Funeral Home, Suring, Wednesday, Feb. 19th after 2 p.m., with Rosery at 8 p.m.
The funeral will be held Thursday, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Michael Catholic Church, Suring, with Pastors Frank Melchior and David Barrette officiating. Burial in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, South Branch.
