"Miss Maude Calligan, 74, died at 5:40pm Thursday after a lingering illness of more than a year.
"The deceased was born in Oconto July 25, 1870 and lived in Oconto her entire life. With her sister, who preceded her in death, she conducted a confectionery business in the city for 30 years. Previously she had worked as a hand compositor on the Reporter.
"Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at two o'clock at the Gallagher funeral home, the Rev. J. Edgar Pearson, pastor of the First Presbyterian church, officiating. Burial was in the Evergreen cemetery. One brother, George, of Rockford, Ill. survives."
