LeRoy V. Olson, 75, of Abrams, died Monday March 4, 2002 at Community Memorial Hospital, Oconto Falls.

LeRoy was born November 21, 1926 to the late Roy and Anna (Egebrecht) Olson. He married Diane Deaton on September 25, 1965. She preceded him in death on January 29, 1992.

LeRoy worked as a self-employed auto mechanic for Brookside Service Center for many years. He served in the US Marine Corp during WWII in the South Pacific. LeRoy loved hunting and fishing and the outdoors. He was a member of St. Louis Catholic Church, Abrams, the Abrams American Legion, and the volunteer Fire Department in Pensaukee. LeRoy is survived by two daughters Sarah Olson, Abrams; Carrie Olson, Abrams; one son, Andrew Olson, Abrams; four brothers Jim (Pat) Olson, Sturgeon Bay; Tony (Marilyn) Olson, DePere; Cletus (Karen) Olson, Peshtigo; David (Diane) Olson, Green Bay; four sisters Anita Hearley, Oconto; LuAnn (Roy) Woodland, DePere; Leona (Bill) Fonferek; Green Bay; Ardella (Wayne) Nelson, Shiocton; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his stepmom, Loretta Olson; one daughter, Nicole Olson, and one sister, Evelyn Halverson. The family received relatives and friends at St. Louis Catholic Church, Abrams, from 9-10 a.m. Wednesday, March 6. Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated 10 a.m. Wednesday at the church with Fr. Gerald Prusakowski officiating. The Gallagher Funeral Home, Oconto, assisted the family.
