Lyle V. Fisher, 87, Suring, died unexpectedly on Tuesday, November 6, 2001. He was born in Wayland, Michigan on October 2, 1914 to the late Glen and Olive (Miller) Fisher. Lyle married Laura Wiesenhofer November 1, 1933. The couple moved to Breed Township in 1945. Lyle farmed until about 1970. He had held numerous public offices over the years including Breed Township Chairman for 26 years, and serving on the Oconto County Board of Supervisors. Lyle enjoyed hunting and fishing with his family.

Survivors include his daughter and her family: Evelyn (William) School of Mountain; three sons and their families: Leonard "Bud" (Cindy) Fisher of Townsend; Loren (Barbara) Fisher of Suring; Kenneth (Jane) Fisher of Gresham, OR; his brother, Laurel (Louise) Fisher of Dorr, MI; his sister, Cleota (Stanley) Schmidt of Dorr, MI; his daughter-in-law, Sally Fisher of Bloomer, WI; very special friend, Theresa Helmrath of Suring; 16 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren. Lyle was preceded in death by his wife Laura on March 8, 1985; his son, Larry, in 1993; two brothers Tyler and Ivan; his three sisters Goldie, Lena, and Vera.

Visitation was held on Friday, November 9, at Gruetzmacher Funeral Home in Suring. Funeral services were conducted 11 a.m. Saturday, November 10 at the Funeral Home with Pastor Russell Kampfer officiating. Burial in Breed Union Cemetery.
