Lester Whitcomb Rites on Tuesday 

Lester S. Whitcomb, 81, former chairman of the town of Little Suamico and county board member for 20 years, died at the home of his son, John, in Pewaukee Saturday at 4 a.m.

Mr. Whitcomb was born in the town of Little Suamico, Nov. 22, 1878, spent all except the last four years of his life there. He was married to the former Laura Moody, who preceded him in death in 1916. He was a farmer until his retirement. He was a charter member of the Modern Woodmen of America at Abrams. Before going to the Milwaukee area to live with other relatives, he made his home with his son, Crosby, Oconto County Clerk of Courts.

The body was brought to the Gallagher funeral home where it lay in state and rosary services were held Monday evening. Funeral services were held Tuesday morning in St. Louis Catholic Church at Abrams, with the Reverend James Geenen officiating. Burial was in the Brookside Cemetery.

Survivors are on daughter, Mrs. Elmer (Beatrice) Pecor of Milwaukee; four sons, Russel of Wauwatosa, Crosby of Oconto, and Lester Jr. and John of Pewaukee; one brother Harry of Burbank, Cali., 14 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Ray Truskowski, Vincen Gutowski, Frank Peters, Francis Rukamp, Henry Koehne and Frank Pomprowitz.
