The community suffered the loss of another fine citizen when LeRoy Spice passed away at the local hospital early Sunday morning after having suffered a stroke on Wednesday afternoon.

The Rev. Francis Francart officiated at the requiem mass at St. Anthonys Catholic church at nine on Tuesday morning. Members of the Junior Choir sang the mass, with Mrs. Harry Rusch at the organ. Burial took place in the catholic cemetery, with Messrs. John Dobbertin, Fred Johnson, William Benninghaus, Paul and Dennis Gauthier and Sylvester Ehlinger carrying the casket. They were close friends and neighbors of the deceased. The O'Neill funeral home was in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Spice was born in Ohio and came to this community with his parents when a young lad. He was born on October 31, 1880 and was nearing his 70 th birthday. He was married here to the former Miss Nellie Jobeilus, and five sons were born to them, one dying in infancy.

The survivors are his wife, sons Leland and Milo of Oconto Falls, Elton of Green Bay and Francis of Little Suamico. He also leaves eleven grandchildren, two brothers, William of Post Lake, and Joseph of Joliet, Illinois, and a sister, Mrs. Harris Evrard of this community.

Mr. Spice had been employed for many years at the local paper mill. He was most industrious and in addition to his work always had a large garden. His neighborliness and kindly disposition won for him many friends.
