Leo S. Adamczyk, 78, of Lakewood, died Tuesday, May 9, 2000, at the Veteran's Center in Tomah, WI.
He was born on September 6, 1922, in Milwaukee where he lived for almost fifty years. Leo left Bay View High School in 1943 enlisted in the United States Army and fought in World War II. He was badly wounded several times and earned a number of medals, including two purple hearts. Leo retired and relocated to Lakewood in 1970, there becoming an active member of the community. He married Marie Rugg of Lakewood in 1975. They attended the Lakewood Presbyterian Church.
Leo is survived by a brother, Henry (Genevieve), of Townsend; a sister-in-law, Beatrice, of West Allis; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He will sadly be missed by all. His brother, Edwin, and his wife Marie preceded him in death.
Suminski Funeral Home of Wabeno was in charge of arrangements. The family held private services at the funeral home Thursday, May 11, 2000.
