Lucille L. "Sally" Williams, 78, 104 S. Franklin St., Oconto Falls, passed away quietly at home on Oct. 20, 1998. Friends and family will remember her for her warm heart, kindness, and generosity. Sally was born on June 3, 1920 in Rapid River, Mich., and the daughter of the late Vernon and Beatrice (Parrott) Resler. After graduation from nursing school from UW-Madison/St. Mary's, Sally served in the United States Army with the Nurse Corps for 11 years. She served in the European Theatre of Operation (ETO) for two years, Okinawa, Japan, and was one of the first nurses to work during the Korean Conflict. She was with the 8063 MASH division, which she would always add, "was nothing like the television MASH stories." After her honorable discharge from the Army, Sally worked as a registered nurse in both Gillett and Oconto Falls until retiring in 1983. Sally thoroughly enjoyed gardening and fishing.

Lucille is survived by one son, John O. (Mary) Williams, Suamico; three daughters, Vickii Williams, Oconto Falls; Margaret "Peggy" Williams, Oconto Falls; Mary (David) Buzzo, Lansing, Mich.; six grandchildren, Jon M. Williams, Madison; Amber L. Williams, Prescott, Ariz.; Tara Williams, Oconto Falls; Dennis La Mountain, Oconto Falls; Shelly La Mountain, Benton, Ark.; Jennifer Williams, Lansing, Mich.; one great-grandchild, Austin Williams, Madison; four sisters, Naomi Kirchoff, Tomahawk; Donnella Helm, Edgely, N.D.; Joyce Gehrke, Coleman; Laurie Glor, Milwaukee; special friends, Tom and Diane Bikowski and their children Robby and David.

Sally was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Roger Williams and her sister Jean.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday Oct. 24, 1998 at the Jones Funeral Service in Oconto Falls with Msgr. Carl Steiner officiating. Friends may call from 12 noon Saturday until the time of services at the funeral home. Full military honors will follow after the funeral services at the funeral home.
