She was born Oct. 23, 1903 in Union, Ill. to Phineas and Mary (Wallace) Renie. On Oct. 4, 1924, in Chicago she married Ralph Peterson.
She was a former member of the Marengo-Union Garden Club and an amateur radio operator for more than 45 years.
Survivors include three daughters, Loretta (John) Hume of Macnesy Park; Virginia; (David) Sears of Crystal River, Fla. and Elizabeth (Roger) Anderson of Oconto Falls; seven grandchildren; nine great-grand- children; two nieces; one nephew; and one sister, Frances Schneider of Marengo.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 1986; a grand-daughter, Laurie Hume; and a grandson, Timothy Hume. The funeral was held Thursday, January 25 at the Marengo-Union Funeral Home in Marengo, Ill. with the Rev. Michael Anderson officiating. Interment in Union Cemetery.
