Leonard P. Belongia



Leonard P. Belongia, 83 of Oconto passed away peacefully Wednesday, October 17, 2012. He was born to the late Oscar and Rose (Bake) Belongia March 17, 1929 in the Town of Little River. Leonard married the former Joyce Maronek September 22, 1949 at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Oconto. Leonard’s entire family farmed along side him on the family farm until he retired from farming in 1979. He also worked at Cruisers of Oconto for 36 years until retiring in 1992. Leonard enjoyed hunting, fishing, and sports of all kinds. He was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Oconto. Pallbearers will be the following grandsons: Blake, Bengie, Brad, and Paul Belongia, David and Billy Murphy and Tyler Ferris. Surviving are his wife, Joyce, six children, Kathy (Milt) Alsteen, Pound; Larry (Sharon) Belongia, Oconto; Randy (fiancee Irene) Belongia, Oconto; Billy (Peggy) Belongia, Fond du Lac; Danny Belongia, Green Bay; Jacky Belongia, Lena; 17 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren and many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by four brothers, Bernard, Richard, Francis and Norman. Friends may call at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Oconto Saturday, October 20th from 9 A.M. until the time of Mass of Christian Burial at 11 A.M. with Father Joel Sember officiating.
