Lucille M. Zemke, 84, of Oshkosh, passed away peacefully at her home with her family at her side on Thursday, July 26, 2001.

She was born on March 13, 1917 in Oconto, Wisconsin, a daughter of the late William J. and Anna (Urbnek) O'Connor. She married Harry W. Zemke on June 22, 1946 in Oshkosh. Lucille graduated from St. Joseph Catholic Grade School and Oconto High School in 1935. She attended the Mercy School of Nursing, graduating in 1940 and then working for Mercy Hospital as a Registered Surcial Nurse until her retirement in 1989. Lucille greatly enjoyed time spent with her family.

She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Harry W. Zemke; a sister, Jane Herbert of Oconto; a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Walter (Jane) Zemke of Oshkosh. She is further survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends. Lucille was preceded in death by four brothers Llewellyn, William, Arthur and Robert; a sister, Evelyn.

There was no visitation; private family services were held. Deacon Ray Brandenstein officiated. Burial in Peace Lutheran Cemetery. Memorials in Lucille's name may be made to the Oshkosh Affinity Visiting Nurse-Hospice office. Arrangements entrusted to Seefeld Funeral Chapels.

Lucille's family wishes a special thank you to Patrick W. Connelly, M.D., and staff for the wonderful and tender care given to Lucille during her illness.
