Lorraine Loberger Obituary



Lorraine Loberger, 88, Oconto Falls, died Friday morning, January 11, 2013 at Community Memorial Hospital. She was born November 6, 1924 in Oconto County to Jerome and Vernie (Burton) Poquette. Because her mother died when Lorraine was just 5 years old, she was raised by Fred and Angeline Forcier. She grew up in Oconto County where she attended Elm Lawn and Busy Nook Elementary Schools.

On May 12, 1945 she married Donald Loberger at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Oconto Falls. Lorraine lived in the Lena and Oconto Falls area all of her life where she once worked at the Falls Restaurant, Blue Spruce Ballroom and for the Netzer family in Lena. She also helped her husband run the family farm. Lorraine was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church where she sang in the church choir and helped serve funeral dinners. She also held membership in the Oconto Falls American Legion Auxiliary.

She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Donald Loberger, Oconto Falls; their two children, Patricia (Dave) Lindsten, Oconto; Jerome (Cindy) Loberger, North Chase; four grandchildren, Christopher La Chance, Oconto; Jason La Chance, DePere; Katie and Michael Loberger, Chase; two great grandchildren, Jordan and Lexi La Chance; one sister, Pearl Lund, Green Bay; many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and two sisters, Fern Pilath and Esther Schufelt.

Visitation will be held from 4-8 pm Monday, January 14, 2013 at Jones Funeral Service in Oconto Falls, prayer service 7pm Monday. Visitation will continue after 10am Tuesday, January 15, 2013 at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Oconto Falls until the time of service. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11am Tuesday at the church with the Rev. Fr. Joel Sember officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
