Mr. Ludwig "Louie" M. Mayerhofer, Sr., 67, 132 Bridge Street, Oconto died Thursday morning, January 7, 1999 at Oconto Memorial Hospital. Louie was born March 24, 1931 at Milwaukee, the only child of Michael and Anna (Soellner) Mayerhofer. He served in the United States Army for several years, and also was an active athlete playing soccer with the Milwaukee Soccer League. On Nov. 24, 1956 he was united in marriage to the former Nancy Raff at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, Milwaukee. The couple resided in Milwaukee until moving to Oconto in 1972. Louie spent much of his working life in the tannery trade. He worked as a Leather Chemist and salesman for 30 years at Prime Leather Finish Company, located at Milwaukee. Louie's latest employment was with Emerson Electric at Menominee, Michigan, where he was employed for 12 years, until retirement in 1996. He was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Oconto.
Surviving are his wife Nancy; two sons, Skip and Mark both of Oconto; three grandchildren, Samantha, Melissa, and Zachary.

Relatives and friends also called Saturday January 9, 1999 from 9 until 10:45 AM when closing prayers were said. Mass of Resurrection 11 AM Saturday at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, St. Joseph Site.
