She was born May 21, 1915 at Pittsburgh, PA. She was a housekeeper for Rev. Abner Laque and Rev. David Mineau in Oconto for many years. Lilas was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church, Stiles. She served in the United States Air Force for 20 years.
Lilas is survived by a grandson, Louis David Angelo; two step-grandchildren, Steven Sheri Angelo and Dean Angelo all of Pittsburgh, PA; her dog, Chippy and many special friends. A daughter, Mary Jane Betcher Angelo, preceded her in death in 1957.
Friends called at the Gallagher Funeral Home, Oconto on Friday. A parish wake service was held. Mass of Christian Burial was concelebrated by Fr. Carl Steiner, Fr. Bob Groher and Fr. Norman Krutzik at 11 a.m. Saturday, February 3, 2001, at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Stiles. Burial at the Oconto Catholic Cemetery. Jones Modrow Young post of the American Legion conducted military rites.
