Leona was born June 27,1907, in the Town of Morgan, to William and Mathilda (Birr) Kliefoth. She was united in marriage to Garold Knudson on Nov 27, 1930 in Oconto Falls. Along with her husband, the couple farmed in the Town of Xhase for 20 years. During this time of her life, Leona was very active in community affairs by helping to establish the first 4-H Club in North Chase and also served as the club's leader. In 1951, the family moved to Oconto Falls, where she was employed as a clerk at the West Side Mart for 25 years.
Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Lorraine and Kenneth Murphy of Oconto Falls; two grandchildren, Kent (Linda) Murphy of New Jersey, and Colleen (Vernon) Risner of Beaver; three great-grandsons, Jeffery, Keith, and Mark Risner.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Garold, on Dec 19, 1990; one brother and sister-in-law, Harold and Virginia Kliefoth.
