Lars Johnson, 85, formerly of Rt. 2, Suring, Hickory Cor­ners, died Tuesday at a Bismark, N. D. hospital after a short illness.

Born Jan. 25, 1891 in Copenhagen, Den Denmark, he married Angelina Reed May 28, 1913 in the Town of Maple Valley. He farmed in the Kelly Brook area until his retire­ment. Mr. Johnson was a member of Danish Lutheran Church and a school board • member of Oak School Dis­trict for a number of years.

Survivors include seven daughters, Mrs. Joe (Wilma) Vajenta, and Mrs. Orvil (Dora) a) Slang, both of Suring; Mrs. Bob (Neva) Hadge, Plym­outh; Mrs. Virgil (Mae) Alick, Milwaukee; Mrs., Henry (Audrey) Kralovetz, Shawano; the Rev. and Mrs. Arnold (Laurel) Herich, Tuttle, N. D.; Mrs. Erling (Beverly) Anneson, Oconto Falls; four sons, Ronald, Mount Sterling; Kenneth, Green Bay; Virgil, Bismark, N.D.; Dale, Ypsilami, Mich.; 40 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife in 1972 and also by two sons. Friends may call at Soulek Funeral Home, Suring, after 3 p.m. Friday. Funeral 2 p.m. Saturday at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church with the Rev. Franklyn Schroeder officiating. Burial in Hickory Cemetery.
