Leo J. MEYER, Sr.

Leo J. Meyer, Sr., 98, formerly of Beaver, died Friday July 2, 1999 at Maple Lane Care Center, Shawano.

He was born June 3, 1901 the soon of Nicholas and Anna (Kolb) Meyer at Jacksonport, WI. On April 6, 1929 he was married to the former Olga Anderson in Chicago, IL. The couple operated a farm in the Town of Beaver for many years and also farmed in the Town of Little River from 1946-47. Leo made windmills and wooden chests for a hobby. He was a member of Ss. Francis & Wenceslaus Church, Coleman.

Surviving are one son, Leo Jr. (Carol) Meyer of Crivitz; five daughters, Beverly Chucka of Pound, Marjorie (Dan) Zeitler, Linda (Bill) Krueger, Mary (Jim) Karban and Ellie (Bill) Mongin all of Coleman; 29 grandchildren and 61 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Olga on January 30, 1998; son-in-law, Francis Chucka on January 3, 1999; three grandchildren, Leonard Chucka, Dean Mongin and Stacie Karban; one great-grandson, Gregory Nowak; and six brothers and two sisters.

Friends called at Ss. Francis & Wenceslaus Church, Coleman from 9 a.m. Tuesday until the time of funeral services at 11 a.m. Rev. John Hephner officiated with burial in St. Leo's Catholic Cemetery, Pound. Rhodes-Charapata Funeral Home, Coleman assisted the family with arrangements.
