Lorraine J. Lemorande, 92, Oconto Falls, died peacefully Sunday morning,
September 2, 2012 surrounded by her loving family. She was born
September 22, 1919 in Oconto Falls to John and Mary (Kinziger) Johnson.
Lorraine grew up in Oconto Falls where she attended St. Anthony Catholic
Elementary School, later graduating from Oconto Falls High School with
the class of 1938.
On October 7, 1944 she married Robert "Ridge" Lemorande at the US Marine
base in San Diego, CA. Lorraine lived in Oconto Falls all of her life
where she was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church and the Altar
Rosary Society. She also belonged to and was active in Community
Memorial Hospital and Legion Auxiliaries, a Friend of the Library and
Performing Arts Center, and held longtime memberships at River Island
Golf Club and the Oconto Falls Women's Club. As an avid bridge player,
she participated in many bridge clubs and enjoyed the time with her many
friends.
Survivors are her three children, Robert J. Lemorande, Calgary Alberta,
Canada; Larry (Pam) Lemorande, Kelly Lake; Mary Lee (Dave) Olson,
Chippewa Falls; four grandsons, Andy and Brent Lemorande; Patrick and
John R. Olson; one brother, James (Phyllis) Johnson, Oconto Falls; one
sister, Pat (Merrill) Aderman, Marinette; four Godchildren, many loving
nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband "Ridge" in 1978, one
brother, John "Jack" (Dorothy) Johnson, two sisters, Kay (Eldo "Red")
Boettcher and Melba Funk.
Visitation with the urn present will be held after 9am Saturday,
September 8, 2012 at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Oconto Falls until
the time of service. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30am
Saturday at the church with the Rev. Fr. Joel Sember officiating. Burial
will take place in the church cemetery. Jones Funeral Service in Oconto
Falls is serving the Lemorande family.
In lieu of other expressions of sympathy, memorials may be made to St.
Anthony Catholic Church. The Lemorande family would like to give a
special thank you to the caring staff of Meadowlands, her home for six
years, Dr. William Wittman and Unity Hospice for their care and
consideration shown Lorraine.
