Larry Frank Duda, age 47, of Wabeno, formerly of Gillett and St. Clair Shores, MI, passed away at his home on friday September 24, 1999. Larry was born in detroit MI. on Jan. 2, 1952 to Frank G. and Shirley (Zickgral) Duda. He grew up in St. Clair Shores, MI. as was a graduate of Lakeshore High School. In 1973 he joined the US Air force. While on duty he was injured and had to undergo several spinal surgeries but was permanently diabled. While in service he lived in Oscoda, MI. After his medical discharge, he moved to Gillett, and then 10 years ago he moved to Wabeno. Larry loved people and was very kind and generous. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and bowling. Survivors include his father, Frank of Clinton Township, MI; his fiancé, Donna Haluska of Wabeno; two children, Melody and Ryan Duda of Wabeno; Donna Haluska's son Ross and daughter Amber; two brothers, Donald (Laura) Duda of Clinton Township, MI; and Matthew (Stephanie) Duda of Plymouth, MI. He was preceded in death by his mother and one son, Larry, Jr. Visitation was held at Suminski Funeral Home in Wabeno on Monday September 27 from 5-9 p.m. Prayer service was at 7:30 p.m. with Rev. Craig Korth officiating. There was also visitation on Wed. Sept. 29, at Kaul Funeral Home in Roseville, MI; from 4-9:00 p.m. Funeral Service will be on Thursday, Sept. 30 at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery in Detroit.
