Paralytic Stroke Causes Death of Mrs. Charles Wittkopf
Mrs. Charles Wittkopf, 80, a highly respected resident of this city for
many years, died suddenly Tuesday morning at her home, 703 Superior
Avenue. She apparently was about to leave her bed when she suffered a
paralytic stroke which caused her death.
Louisa Ellman was born in Germany January 21, 1845. Fifty seven
years
ago she was married to Charles Wittkopf in Germany and a year later they
came to the Untitled States, settling in Oconto where she has since made
her home.
Mrs. Wittkopf is survived by her husband, two sons, Ernest
of this
city and Charles of Fond du Lac and one daughter, Mrs. John Meyer, of
Oconto Falls. She is also survived by eighteen grandchildren and eight
great grandchildren.
The funeral was held Thursday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock
from St.
Paul's Evangelical church, Rev. Dies officiating. Burial was made in
Evergreen cemetery.
The pallbearers were Ernest Werth, Carl Draeger, Ernest
Hidde,
Charles Pahl, August Geschke and Leonard Moak. Allen Meyer, Allen
Wittkopf and Paul, Clarence and Earl Wittkopf grandsons of deceased,
acted as honorary pallbearers.

of Kenosha, Clarence Wittkopf, Mrs. Frank Graichen, Mr. and Mrs. Charles
Wittkopf, Fond du Lac; Mr. and Mrs. John Meyer and family of Oconto
Falls, Mr. and Mrs. Bartel of Gillett, Allen Wittkopf of Oshkosh, Mr.
and Mrs. Carl Meyer and Mrs. Clarence Kilmer of Oconto Falls and Mr. and
Mrs. Alvin Winans of Abrams.
