Lauren was born March 31, 1930 in Owosso, MI to the late Charles and Emma (Hayes) Rowell. He married Susan Retzer January 2, 1984 at King, WI. Lauren was a teacher and guidance counselor. He worked in various places in the United States, Germany and Japan. He was guidance counselor at Lena High School for eight years, retiring in 1994. He was a member of the Oconto Gospel Chapel.
Lauren is survived by his wife Susan; a daughter, Barbara (Thomas) Cook, Oconto; a son, Karl (Sarah) Rowell, Greenfield, WI; a stepdaughter, Maureen (Jeffrey) Olson, Waupaca; four grandchildren Tommy Cook, James Cook, Alana Rowell and Nathan Olson; many nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by a brother, Victor Rowell; two sisters Avon Farrow and Theo Hickey; one grandson, Joseph Cook.
Friends called at the Oconto Gospel Chapel from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. Sunday, March 10. Funeral service was held 2:30 p.m. Sunday at the Oconto Gospel Chapel with Pastor Bob Schut officiating. Burial at Woodlawn Cemetery, Oconto Falls. The Gallagher Funeral Home, Oconto, assisted the family.
