Louis E. Baumgartner, 93, Suring, died at home on Friday June 6, 2003. He was born in Lakewood August 1, 1909, to the late Louis and Lula (Mills) Baumgartner. Louis married Sophie Rueckert October 28, 1940. The couple lived and farmed in Breed township for many years, during later years he was employed by the Oconto County Forestry. Louis was a member of Emanuel Lutheran Church in Breed.

Survivors include his daughter Marie and son-in-law Roger Schulz, Suring; half sister Dale (Awald) Quandt, Suring; two granddaughters and their children, Pam (Wayne) Deering, Suring and their children, Kimberly, Joshua, and Christopher; Jodi (David) Fischer, Gillett and their children Eric and Mark.

He was preceded in death by his wife Sophie on November 4, 1993; four sisters, Phyllis, Agnes, Grace, and Anne; four brothers, John, George, Richard, and Junior.

Visitation was held on Tuesday, June 10, at Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Breed beginning at 9:30 a.m. until funeral services 11 a.m. with Pastor Paul Scheunemann officiating. Burial in Breed Union Cemetery. Gruetzmacher Funeral Home, Suring in charge of arrangements.
