She was born February 12, 1914 in South Dakota to the late Frank and Bertha Bushena.
Leona Bushena married Emerald D. Reed September 29, 1934. The couple retired from Hartford in 1970 and moved to Suring. Leona enjoyed her yard and raising flowers.
Survivors include her husband, Emerald, of Suring; one daughter, Rosalie Babicky, of Suring; two sons, Vincent (Mary) Reed, of Oley, MT, Pete Reed, of Suring; one sister, Anita Curtis, of Medord, OR; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Leona was preceded death by two sisters, Irene and Celia.
Visitation was at Gruetzmacher Funeral Home in Suring on Wednesday June 14, 2000 from 9 a.m. until funeral services 11 a.m. at the Funeral Home with Timothy H. Fifield officiating. Burial in Hickory Cemetery.
