Knaus, Loren C.

Loren C. Knaus, 90, Lena, died Friday morning, March 11, 2016 at home. He was born August 31, 1925 to Elmer and Loretta Knaus. As a young man, Loren served in the US Army during WWII and was stationed in the Philippines for most of military obligations.

On April 2, 1960 he married Janet Mayfield in Dubuque, IA. The couple lived most of their married lives on the eastside of Milwaukee where Loren was employed in maintenance at Marquette University for over 30 years. The couple retired to Lena in 1987.

Survivors are his wife of 56 years, Janet Knaus, Lena; two stepsons, Bill (Joylynn) Merwin, Racine; Ted (Barb) Merwin, Lena; three grandchildren, Reilly (Chris) Hage, Teddy (Becky) Merwin and Todd (Anna) Peters; eight great grandchildren; one sister, Iva Payne, Monroe.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a granddaughter Brianne and eight siblings.

Visitation will be held at Jones Funeral Service in Oconto Falls after 11am Thursday, March 17, 2016 until a time of sharing of memories at 2pm Thursday at the funeral home. Cremation will follow.
