Mr. Bikowski was born May 19, 1916 in Oconto, the son of the late Joseph and Isabell (Isherwood) Bikowski. He attended St. Joseph Parochial School and was a graduate of Oconto High School. Len served his country during World War II in Saipan in the South Pacific. He worked for Baltimore Ohio Railroad on the Badger Ferry which ran on Lake Michigan. On March 29, 1984, Leonard was united in marriage to the former Ruth (Cota) Noren.
Leonard was a very generous man. He very much enjoyed gardening, playing cards, as well as Ruth's cooking, and following their marriage, enjoyed the simple pleasures of life. Len loved the grandchildren and great-grandchildren and joked with many who knew him. He was a member of the Oconto American Legion Post and the Golden Agers of Oconto and Oconto Falls.
Surviving are his loving wife Ruth; seven children, Patricia (Ed) Piche, Green Bay; Nancy (John) Kwaterski, Oneida; Lynn Fredrickson and special friend John Hanson, Marinette; Thomas (Pam) Noren, Oconto; James (Joan) Noren, Kewaskum; David (Lori) Noren, Fond du Lac; Julie (Patrick) Trepanier, Oconto; three brothers, Richard Bikowski, Joseph (Ruth) Bikowski, and Harry "Buddy" ("Dee") Bikowksi, all of Oconto; two sisters, Pearl Scheuren, Oostburg, and Helen Yoblonski, Oshkosh; 15 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
Beside his parents, he was preceded in death by his stepmother, Clara; former wife, Sarah; and brother, Raymond.
The family received relatives and friends at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Park Avenue, Oconto from 9 until 10:15 a.m. Saturday, July 7. Mass of Resurrection was 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Church. The Rev. Fr. David Ruby officiated. Interment at Oconto Catholic Cemetery. Jones-Modrow-Young American Legion Post #74 of Oconto conducted military rites at the Cemetery.
