Archie R. Kunkel, 87, Gillett, passed away on Sunday April 8, 2012 at
Franciscan Villa in South Milwaukee,
Archie was born on May 7, 1924 in New Salem, N.D., the son of the late Otto
Kunkel and Frieda Knirck. Archie married Marilyn Curtis on Dec. 1, 1951, at
St. John's Lutheran Church in Gillett.
Archie served his country in the U. S. Army during World War II.
Archie was a life member of Krause-Simpson American Legion Post 300 of
Gillett, Luebke-Robinson Post 8314 VFW and Russell/Leicht Chapter 3 DAV
Green Bay, St. John's Lutheran Church.
Archie is survived by his wife of 60 plus years Marilyn, four children,
Randy (Rita) Kunkel, Billings, Mont.; Sue (Tom) Fisher, Green Bay; Marianne
Kunkel, Rockford, Ill.; Karen Kunkel, Oak Creek, Wis.; six grandchildren,
Miranda LaForge, Billings, Mont.; Bryan Kunkel, South Korea; Joshua (April)
Fisher, Green Bay; Elyse (Eric) Sorensen, Pittsville; Andrea (Rick) Storzer,
Green Bay; Sarah Fisher and fiance, Mike Bootz, Green Bay; three
great-grandchildren, Jaylen and Brooke LaForge, Billings, Mont.; Kendall
Tierney, Green Bay; one sister, Rosemary Kunkel, Nampa, Idaho.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Lorenz and Rudy; four sisters,
Hertha Moore, Delores Kunkel Margaret Schwinkendorf and Bernice Luoma.
Friends may call on Thursday from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. at St. John's
Lutheran Church in Gillett. Funeral Services will be conducted at 11 a.m. at
St., John's Lutheran Church Rev. H. H. Jeffers officiating.
Buirial will be in Wanderer's Rest Cemetery with full Military Rites.
