Katherine Mary Jane "Kay" Kjosa, 74, of Stevens Point, WI, formerly of Wabeno, died October 28, 1999 at Wausau Hospital.

Kay was born in Milwaukee, WI on October 21, 1925, the daughter of John and Helen (Skarbinska) Monte.

Kay married Walter Kjosa February 6, 1946 in Los Angeles, CA. They moved to Waubeno in July, 1951 and resided there until 1990 at which time they moved to Stevens Point.

She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, Catholic order of Foresters and of Christian Mothers. She enjoyed reading, listening to music, growing house plants and she loved to collect a little bit of everything.

She is survived by her husband, Walter Kjosa, Stevens Point; three sons, Dean (Joann), Fayetteville, AR, Patrick (Barbara), Loves Park, IL, Walter (Sharon), Tullahoma, TN; four daughters, Helen Bowman, Marinette, WI; Mary (Larry) Lowery, Italy; Carol (Jeff) Jevnisek, Merton, WI; Nancy (Steve) Johnson, Greenfield, WI; two brothers, Richard Monte, Florence, OR; Joseph (Pat) Monte, Milwaukee; 27 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one son, John, and a brother, Paul.

Visitation was held Sunday, October 31, at the Suminski Funeral Home, Wabeno. Mass of Christian burial was at 10 a.m. Monday, at St. Ambrose Catholic Church, Wabeno, with Father Jerry Schmidt officiating. Interment at the church cemetery.
