As a lifelong member of St. Patrick's Church she was an active participant in the Council of Catholic Women and also taught religious education classes. She and her husband counseled pre-marriage candidates.
Her activities included membership in St. Joseph Academy Parents Club Green Bay and St. Anthony's School Parents Club Oconto Falls, and the Wisconsin chapter of the National Education Association. She also enjoyed gardening, golf, needle craft and entertaining. Kathleen and Patrick traveled extensively after retirement.
Survivors include her husband; three daughters and one son, Patricia and Michael Gage, DePere, WI; Kathleen and Steven Schiller, Omaha, NE; Maureen and Patrick Stepniewski, Dallas, TX; and James and Mary Jones of Oconto Falls, WI; nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren, and her beloved caregiver and trusted friend Maria Dimitrova. Other surviving family members include two sisters, Mrs. Ralph (Betty) Albertz, Green Bay, WI and Mrs. Adam (Marion) Netzer, Rhinelander, WI; two sisters-in- law, Mr. Robert (Leora) Raisler and Mrs. Robert (Grace) Hyland both of Oconto Falls; three brothers-in-law, Frank Seeman of Florida, William (Jerry) and Joyce Jones, Marinette, Vernon and Lucille Jones, Downers Grove, IL; Leonard and Vonnie Jones, Atlanta, GA; numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, parents-in-law, William and Anna Jones, a brother, James McCarthy Jr., sisters Mrs. Lawrence (Dorothy) Tappa, Mrs. Frank (Winifred) Seeman, sister-in-law, Elizabeth Jones, brother-in-law, Lawrence Tappa.
Friends called at Jones Funeral Service in Oconto Falls where a prayer service was held. Mass of Christian burial was held at St. Patrick's Church in Stiles at 11 a.m. on Friday, January 7, 2000, with Msgr. Carl Steiner, Fr. Harold Beernsten and Fr. Bob Groher concelebrating. Burial in Abrams-Stiles catholic Cemetery, Stiles, Wisconsin.
