Schneider,
Kenneth "Kenny"
Kenneth "Kenny" Jule Schneider, 88, De Pere, passed away on Sunday, March
27, 2016 at a local hospital. He was born on September 3, 1927 in Oconto
Falls to the late Fred and Martha (Thyrion) Schneider. Kenny graduated from
Green Bay East High School. After high school he enlisted in the
United
States Navy and later was drafted into the Army for
the
Korean
Conflict. On December 24, 1950 he married the love of his life,
Jean Hintz at Grace Lutheran Church, Green Bay. Kenny worked for 20 years in
the car record office for Green Bay & Western Railroad, where he retired.
Later he also worked for Horst Distributing in Chilton. Kenny was a
Protestant Ship Visitor for the Seafarers Ministry. He was a longtime member
of First United Presbyterian Church in De Pere where he served as a Deacon
and Elder of the church. At holiday time he looked forward to baking the
fruitcakes for the men's club fundraiser. Kenny and Jean spent countless
hours volunteering for De Pere Christian Outreach and many other De Pere
organizations. They enjoyed traveling together to watch the birds. With his
friend, Vern, they loved to act like "Cecil Architects".
He is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Jean; sister, Mona Strebel of
Florida; brother-in-law, Wayne (Barb)Hintz of Tomahawk; nieces and nephews,
Joan (Lee) Collar, LuAnn (Pat) Davis, Lee Kaminecki, Laurie (Mark)
Brodhagen, Julie (Jeff) Starr, Mark (Heidi) Hintz, Kathy (Mark) Senarski,
Peter (Jayna) Hintz, Amy, Kathy, Tim, Andy, and Lee Strebel; great-nephews
and nieces, Matthew (Kristin), Todd (Becky), Lee Collar, Elizabeth (Mike)
Maggle, Jonathan Davis, Maggie Brodhagen, Amber and April Starr, Kerri,
Katie and Chris Hintz, Easton and Mark Senarski, Janessa and Alex Hintz;
great-great-niece and nephews, Camren, Kyle, Ryan and Jay Collar; other
relatives and friends.
Kenny is preceded in death by his parents; mother-in-law and father-in-law,
Laura and Harland Hintz; brother-in-law, Leroy Strebel; sister-in-law and
brother-in-law, Lois (Chester) Kaminecki.
Family and friends may visit at First United Presbyterian Church, 605 N.
Webster Ave., De Pere, on Thursday, March 31, 2016 from 4pm to 7pm.
Visitation will continue on Friday at the church from 9:30am to 10:30am. A
funeral service will be held at 10:30am with Rev. Luke Farewell officiating.
