Kenneth J. Huberty, 64, a prominent Lena resident, died unexpectedly Wednesday, April 18. A Mass of Christian Burial was conducted Saturday, April 21 at Holy Cross Church. Rev. Frank Schrage and Rev. Harry Beerntsen concelebrated with interment in St. Charles Cemetery, Lena. The son of Mr. and Mrs. Clement (Rosalie VanderPerren) Huberty was born Sept. 15, 1936 at Lena. He graduated from Lena High School in 1955 and served two years in the U.S. Army. On Sept. 13, 1958 he married the former Sandra Wolfe at Coleman. He was employed at Frigo Cheese Corp. for one year and then was employed at the Suring State Bank in Lena from 1959 to 1985 where he was manager and vice-president. He then was director and vice-president at Farmers State Bank/Associated Bank in Coleman until his retirement in 1999. He was past member of the Lena Lions Club, Lena Civic Club, Volunteer Fire Department, Knights of Columbus, Lena Village Board, Marinette County Realtors Association, Tri-County Bankers and numerous bank organizations. He was currently treasurer/trustee of Holy Cross Church, Lena, and a parish council member of the church, and a Board of Director for Community Memorial Hospital in Oconto Falls. Survivors include his wife; five children, Mrs. Charles (Lori) Dufek, Mark (Mary) Huberty, Mrs. Steve (Amy) Marquardt, Mike (Kristan) Huberty, Mrs. Cory (Jodi) Marquardt, all of Lena; his mother, Rosalie Huberty of Green Bay; 11 grandchildren; five brothers, Art (Kathy) Huberty of Lena, Carl (Sandy) Huberty of Athens, Ga., John (Mary Lynn) Huberty of DePere, Joe (Carol) Huberty and Tony (Ginny) Huberty of Green Bay; two sisters, Mrs. Larry (Rita) Martens of Pell City, Ala., Mrs. Robert (Leah) Dumke of Green Bay; and one brother-in-law, Richard Wolfe of Manitowoc. He was preceded in death by his father, Clem; one brother, Clyde; and his in-laws, Floyd and Verona Wolfe. Pallbearers were Mike McGuire, Glen Woulf, Emil Pillath, Don Thomson, Ron Jagiello and Ken Foral. In lieu of other expressions of sympathy, a memorial fund has been established in his memory. He was an organ donor.
