James W. McMUNN

Mr. James W. McMunn, age 75, Oconto, died early Thursday morning, November 18, 1999 at Manor Care Health Services-East, Green Bay after a 18 month battle with cancer. James was born in Chilton on February 24, 1924 to Ann and Leonard McMunn. He graduated from the New Holstein High School with the class of 1942, then spent 3 years in the United States Army. He married the former Mary June Martin in 1946 and they celebrated 50 years of marriage in 1996.

Jim was employed with the Wisconsin Public Service Corporation for 40 years and retired in 1986. Jim a member of Holy Trinity Parish, Oconto, the Jones-Modrow-Young American Legion Post, and was a 24 year member of the Oconto County Fair Board. He enjoyed his garden, fishing with his grandsons, reading, traveling, and the time spent with his family.

Survivors including his loving wife of 53 years, Mary June; their two children Kay (James) Zimonek and Michael (Donna) McMunn; and five grandchildren, Janson and Mark Zimonek, and Sarah, Christina, and David McMunn.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers Donald and Jerome. Family and friends called at Rhodes-Charapata Funeral Home, 121 Chicago Street, Oconto from 4 until 9 PM Sunday, November 21, 1999. Parish Prayers 7 PM Mass of Resurrection was held at 11:30 AM Monday November 22, 1999 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, St. Joseph Site. The Rev. Fr. David C. Ruby officiated. Military rites to follow. Interment at Oconto Catholic Cemetery.
