Mrs. Ray B. (Johanna) Urquhart, 103, died Monday, January 25, 1999 in Eau Claire. She was born, Nov. 25, 1895 in Green Bay.

Pastor Kevin Tarvid will conduct a memorial services at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 30, at the First Presbyterian Church. The family will receive friends one hour before the service and also following.

A lunch will be served. The Gallager Funeral home will assist the family. A complete obituary will follow in the February 3 Oconto County Reporter. OCONTO COUNTY REPORTER, WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 3.1999 Mrs. Raymond B. (Johanna Nelson) Urquhart, 103, died January 25, 1999 at Syverson Lutheran home in Eau Claire. Johanna was born November 25, 1895 in Green Bay, WI to Ole and lnga (Christopherson) Nelson. On July 14, 1925 she married Raymond Burnett Urquhart at St. John's Lutheran Church, Ashwaubenon, WI.

A registered nurse, Johanna was the last living member of her class, having graduated from St. Andrew's Hospital, Minneapolis, Minnesota, in 1917. She was employed as a surgical nurse in Green Bay and Oconto hospitals prior to her marriage. Johanna taught Sunday school and was active in the women's organization of the Presbyterian Church, Oconto, since 1925. Johanna taught us Christian values by having a strong faith in our living Lord. She leaves us with many memories and a legacy of love.

Johanna was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Ray on January 30, 1972, a daughter, Ruth, May 6, 1974 and also by sisters Rena, Irene, Birdella, and Helen, and son-in-law Donald Branson, September 18, 1998.

Survivors include her son, the Reverend James (Margaret) Urquhart, Tallahassee, FL; her daughter, Bonnie Branson of Eau Claire; a son-in-law, Vernon (Doris) Prenzler, Bloomington, IL; a brother-in-law, Clarence (Mabel) Box, Lexington, N.C.; a sponsored (from post WWII Germany) daughter, Anna (Tom) Lobone, Hamilton, Ml, eleven grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren.

Memorial services were held in Eau Claire at Syverson Lutheran home Friday, January 29, 1999 t 1:30 p.m. with Dr. Ronald Wilson officiating. A memorial service was held in Oconto at the First Presbyterian Church at 11 a.m. on Saturday, January 30, 1999 with Rev. Kevin Tarvid officiating. Prior to and after the service, friends were invited to visit with the family in the church fellowship hall. Fuller-Speckien Funeral Home, Eau Claire and the Gallagher Funeral Home, Oconto assisted the family with arrangements. Memorials may be given to the First Presbyterian Church in Oconto or the First Presbyterian Church in Eau Claire.
