John THOMPSON

John Thompson, age 44, Poplar Lane, Mountain died at home Saturday, May 16, 1999 following a short illness.

He was born in Stevens Point, WI. April 6, 1955 to the late Emil and Jeanette (Waiter) Thompson. John married Karen Mclnness on April 28, 1984. He was co-owner of the Everbreeze Resort on Chute Pond with his brother Gary from 1980 until presently. John was an avid fisherman and had belonged to the 38 Trap Club. He had been employed as a W.I.A..A. referee for Girls Volleyball and Boys Basketball.

Survivors include his wife Karen. Two brothers and their families, Gary and special friend (Doreen Leisner) Thompson of Mountain; Ole (Kelly) Thompson of Amherst. Two sisters and their families, Ginger (Carl) Megol of Amherst; Gayle (Fred) Maves of Plover. His mother and father in law Mary (Jim) Mclnness of Suring. Three sisters in laws, Ellen and special friend (Kelly Flynn) of Mountain; Sharon (Ken) Holmes of Green Bay, Katie (Dave) Leisner of Pound. Further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many close friends.

John was preceded in death by his parents and a nephew Brett Megel. Friends called at Saint Michael Catholic Church Chapel, Chute Pond on Tuesday, May 18, 1999 from 1:00 p.m. until services 4:00 p.m. at the Chapel. Burial will be at a later date in Mountain Cemetery. Gruetzmacher Funeral Home in Suring in charge of arrangements.
