Joseph "Sandy" McTAVISH

Joseph "Sandy" McTavish, 68, of 243 Mill St., Oconto, died Friday February 12, 1999 at Bay Area Medical Center, Marinette after a courageous battle with cancer. Sandy was born March 5, 1930 in Oconto to Franklin and Mabel (Belongia) McTavish. He married Pat LaViolette on October 8, 1966 at St. Peter Catholic Church. Sandy worked at Cruisers and then at Bond Pickle Co. as a Traffic Manager. Sandy served in the Army during the Korean Conflict as a Radio Intercept Operator. He was past Commander of the Jones Modrow Young Post 74 and current member. Sandy was also a member of the Knights of, Columbus and Holy Trinity Parish, St. Peter Site.

Sandy is survived by his wife Pat, Oconto; his mother, Mabel McTavish; one son, Michael (Nancy) McTavish, Green Bay; one daughter, Michelle (Jerry) Iverson, Green Bay; one brother, Donald (Ceil) McTavish, Rothschild; one brother-in-law, John LaViolette, Kenosha; one sister-in-law, Jean (Norm) Noah, Oconto; three grandchildren and one nephew.

He was preceded in death by his father Franklin and one sister, Rosemary Pitroske. The family greeted relatives and friends at the Gallagher Funeral Home, Oconto where St. Anne's Rosary and prayer services were held. Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated 11 a.m. Tuesday February 16, 1999 at Holy Trinity Parish, St. Joseph Site with the Fr. David C. Ruby officiating with burial at Oconto Catholic Cemetery and military rites by Oconto American Legion Post 74.
