Mr. Ryan complained of not feeling well yesterday morning but insisted on going to his work at the North-Western shops, where for 40 years he had been employed as a machinist. He went directly to his home from the shops, reaching the house at 4:20 o'clock. He complained of complete exhaustion and sank into a chair. He almost immediately lapsed into unconsciousness and be- fore a physician could reach the home, he had passed away. The body was removed to the Allo Funeral Home, where it will remain until definite arrangements for the funeral have been made.
Mr. Ryan was 68 years of age and is survived by his wife, seven sons and two daughters. The surviving sons and daughters are: Harry, Edward, Francis, Joseph and Catherine of this city. Rita Ryan, of Chicago; Gerald and Leo Ryan, of Milwaukee, and George Ryan, a student at Georgetown University, Washington, D. C.
Mr. Ryan was held in the highest respect by a great number of people and announcement of his sudden death last night came as a terrible shock not only to members of his family but to all who knew him.
FUNERAL ON FRIDAY.
The body will be removed from the Allo Funeral Home to the fam ily residence; 306 Second avenue south, today. Five sons and a life long friend of the deceased, will serve as pallbearers at the funeral, the pallbearers being Harry, Gerald, Leo, Edward and Francis Ryan and Walter O'Connell.
