JOHN PAWLAK DIES

A resident of the Spurce area for 60 years, John Pawlak, Sr., 82, of route 2, Lena, died Sunday night at Community Memorial hospital in Oconto Falls. A carpenter by trade, Mr. Pawlak entered the hosptal five weeks before. He was a native of Gonnessen, Poland, where he was born Dec. 23, 1870 to John Pawlak and Michaline [Nowak]. He came to this country with his parents as an infant and resided in LaSalle, Ill, then moved to the town of Eaton, Brown County , and later, came to Town of Spurce. He married Anna Mioduzewski at Marinette in July 7, 1902 . They celebrated their Golden Anniversary in 1952. They lived in Milwaukee for a while before moving to Spruce.

Surviving besides his wife, Anna, are three sons; August of Chicago; Edwin of Lena; John jr. of Milwaukee; three daughters; Mrs. Leo [Joan] Gauthier and Mrs. Allen Wasterbarth of route 2, Lena and Mrs. Cletus Schuessler of Milwaukee, Wi.; two brothers Wencil and Stanley of Lena; one sister; Mrs. Anna Marckiewicz of Lena; 28 grandchildren; two great grandchildren.

A daughter, Sister Therese, died in 1928, and a son, Stanley, in 1946; one son and daughter died in infancy.

Rites were contducted at 9:30 am Wed. at Sacred Heart Church in Spruce by Rev. Leo Przylski with burial in the church cemtery. The Steffen funeral home was in charge.
